Are You Winter Ready?

There’s frost on the pumpkin, this morning there was frost on everything. It’s that time of year again. Is your equipment ready for that first snow storm? I thought it would be a good idea to put some check list out there for you to use for getting ready.

First, and this is a biggie, is the hopper ready to go and is it calibrated properly? This one step in your preparation can save your operation salt, time and ultimately money if your using just the right amount of salt for the situation. so below are instructions and a calibration chart to place in your truck when completed. Next is the calibration chart, then a truck wash check list. It is for the end of season when your ready to store equipment. However, not a bad idea to use at end of storm events. Equipment is a valuable resource and replacement is becoming tougher in these economic times. Keep it clean and keep it longer. Good luck and be safe out there.
